Mike Weir had another great season on the PGA tour in the year 2000. Weir started off the season great at the Mercedes Championships with final rounds of 69 and 67 to earn him a tie for 4th. Then, a couple weeks later at the Phoenix Open he again finished off strong to earn a tie for 10th. The very next week at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, he finished very strongly with a 66 final round to earn him a tie for 7th. At the Bay Hill Invitational, Weir again finished in the top ten with a tie for 7th. At the MasterCard Colonial, Weir finished tied for 8th and then the very next weekend, he again finished in the top 10 with a 4th place finish at the Memorial Tournament. Much later in the season at the Michelob Championship, Weir had a final round of 64 to get him into a playoff. Unfortunately Weir didn't earn the victory but ended up with a 2nd place finish. But then at the WGC-American Express Championship, Weir made no mistake about it. He came through with a final round of 69 to earn the victory and \$1 million U.S. All together in 2000, Weir finished 6th on the money list with $2,547,829 U.S., an all time best for him.
