Mike Weir was already a great golfer when he was on the Canadian Tour. In 1993, his rookie season, Weir won the T.P.C. and earned the rookie of the year award. In 1995, while already on the PGA tour, Weir came in 2nd at the Ontario Open and The Canadian T.P.C.. In 1997, Weir had a great season on the Tour. Weir came in 2nd at the CPGA Championship, he won the BCTel Pacific Open, and he also won the Canadian Masters. Also in 1997, Weir won the Canadian Tour order of Merit. He also was the 1997 Canadian Tour Stroke Average Leader.
